Bart Holzhauser
Candidate for Trustee

Bart Holzhauser serves as a dedicated Village Trustee, committed to fostering community growth and enhancing the quality of life for all residents. A lifelong resident of Homer Glen, Bart is married with three children and has chosen to raise his family here because of the village’s excellent schools, strong sense of community, and unique rural character.

As Trustee, Bart is focused on bringing residents’ vision for the village to life through transparency, fiscal responsibility, and active community engagement. He believes Homer Glen is rich in treasured qualities—such as its green spaces, distinctive homes, and unique neighborhoods—and looks forward to working collaboratively with fellow board members to address local issues, support sustainable development, and ensure the efficient delivery of public services.

Deirdre Fischer
Deirdre Fischer
Candidate for Trustee

Deide Fischer is a proud Homer Glen resident of 28 years, an educator, child life supervisor, and longtime community volunteer. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Technology, and recently completed a certificate in Learning Differences & Neurodiversity with a specialization in Postsecondary Disability Services.

After student teaching in Homer Glen some years ago, Deide knew she wanted to one day return and build a life here. Her years in the classroom were soon exchanged for the equally important role of motherhood, allowing her to focus on raising her family and becoming actively involved in the community. She later made a career transition to healthcare, where for more than two decades now she has advocated for children and families facing some of life's most difficult challenges. Through listening, education, collaboration, and support, she helps families navigate complex situations, overcome barriers, and connect with the resources they need.

Deide has also given back to the community through involvement in her children's schools, her church, community events, charitable organizations, and neighborhood HOA. Her experiences as a teacher, healthcare professional, volunteer, wife, and mother have reinforced her belief that strong communities are built by listening to one another, treating one another with respect, and working together toward common goals.

Deide is committed to helping Homer Glen remain the kind of community that brought her here 28 years ago: a place where families feel supported, neighbors look out for one another, and people work together for the good of the community.

Village Clerk Candidate

Candice Bielski
Candice Bielski
Candidate for Village Clerk

I’ve spent the last decade being one of those people. Before that, I spent fourteen years as an accounts payable coordinator — fourteen years of getting the numbers right, because in that work “close enough” doesn’t exist. I’ve served as a board member for the Homer Stallions youth football program, currently serve as Vice President of the Lockport Township High School Athletic Boosters, and Treasurer of the LTHS Football Parents Association. And when our son Austin wanted to build a lemonade stand, we built one — Cups 4 Cancer, which has raised $50,000 over eight years, every dollar going to the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, Weish4Ever, CC2 Forever Foundation and Cal's Angels.

You may already know me. I’m the mom hauling wholesale donuts to the Farmers Market on a summer morning, the one behind you in the checkout line at Meijer with three boys in tow. I’m not an outsider or a career politician — I’m your neighbor, and my family lives here too. I’m not working for them. I’m working for us.

Homer Glen moves forward on the strength of neighbors willing to do the quiet work. I’m ready to be one of them, and I’d be honored to continue to serve as your Village Clerk.
